BUG: Right-clicking a folder before it fully loads causes "unexpected error"

Posted: Feb 15, 2002
Current CCL Version as of posting: 2.1.0.113

This problem arises after a very specific sequence of steps is taken. A user left-clicks on a folder in Outlook, and then quickly right-clicks on the same folder, before Outlook has had a chance to fully open the folder and populate the View pane. The user receives an "Unexpected Error" dialog from CCL (the "big red X" screen).

Also, the CCL error log will record an event similar to the following:

Foundation Error Report <date & time>

Component = CCLCommon
Module = HookedExplorer
Procedure = MyExplorer_SelectionChange
Context =
Boundary = fdnBoundaryVB
Severity = fdnSeverityNormal
Erl = 4
Err.Number = 9
Err.Description = The Explorer has been closed and cannot be used for further operations. Review your code and restart Outlook.
Err.Source = Microsoft Outlook
Description = Unexpected Error
Suggestion = Contact your System Administrator
Notes = Detailed diagnostics for this error have been logged, if the problem persists contact technical support

We are currently examing the problem and hope to include a fix in our next software release. In the meantime, the user should click the Cancel Action button on the error dialog, and may then continue their work.
